ABOUT NSD
Built on Design Thinking
Niki Shu Designs began in 2017 as a specialist UI/UX practice. Over nearly a decade, the company has grown into a multidisciplinary technology practice spanning product, design, architecture, security, AI and engineering.
The scope has evolved, but the underlying approach has remained the same. Understand people, solve real problems and build things that work in the real world.

OUR STORY
A decade of evolution

-
Delivery
Expanded into business analysis, requirements and implementation.
-
Architecture
Moved into enterprise and technical architecture.
-
Engineering and AI
Added prototyping, code, infrastructure and hands-on build capability.
-
Today
A multidisciplinary practice with trusted specialists across multiple domains.
WHAT WE DO NOW
A broader practice, built on the same foundations
Product & Design
UI/UX, product thinking, prototyping and user research.
Architecture
Enterprise, solution, cloud, data and integration architecture.
Security & Assurance
Security architecture, threat modelling, secure by design and assurance.
AI & Intelligent Systems
AI and machine learning, agentic systems, autonomy and human and AI interaction.
Engineering & DevOps
Software, infrastructure, integration and deployment.
Delivery & Leadership

HOW WE WORK
Built around experienced practitioners
NSD combines in-house capability with a trusted network of specialists. We assemble the right combination of skills for the problem at hand rather than forcing every engagement into a fixed team structure.
Senior people stay close to the work.
WHAT’S IN A NAME?
Niki Shu Designs
Niki Shu Designs reflects where the company began. Founded as a specialist UI/UX practice, the business has evolved alongside the problems it was asked to solve.
Design led into delivery. Delivery led into business analysis and architecture. Architecture led into engineering, security, AI and increasingly intelligent systems.
Nearly ten years later, the name remains because the principle behind it still matters. Understand the problem, design around people and build something that works in the real world.

HOW WE THINK
The method stayed
- Empathise
- Define
- Ideate
- Prototype
- Test
The disciplines have expanded, but the core method has remained the same. Understand users, define the real problem, explore ideas, prototype early and learn through testing.
Design thinking is not something we added to a technology practice. It is where the practice started.
NEXT
Looking ahead
We believe AI, agentic systems and robotics are creating a new generation of technical and design challenges. We want to stay close to that change by continuing to work across client delivery, architecture, engineering and emerging technology.
