Designing Beyond the Familiar

Exploring how UI and UX thinking can be stretched into emerging and complex environments, from autonomous systems and robotics to drones, AI, security and human-machine collaboration.

Drones are 3D, dynamic environments, but many current interfaces can still feel surprisingly flat and clunky. In some areas there are established products to improve, and in others there is barely an established interaction model at all. That makes them interesting design spaces, and an opportunity to explore new tools, behaviours and experiences.

New environments need new interaction models. That’s where the interesting design work begins.
